  • KEPSA FOUNDATION EXPLORES COLLABORATION WITH DAVIS & SHIRTLIFF

On 29th October 2024, KEPSA Foundation Executive Director Ms. Gloria Ndekei met with Davis & Shirtliff Group CEO Mr. George Mbugua to explore areas of potential collaboration towards contributing to social development among the vulnerable communities in the country. Ms. Ndekei was accompanied by KEPSA Foundation Management team members Ms. Caroline Kawira and Ms. Susan Ng’ang’a while Mr. Mbugua was accompanied by Partnerships & Resource Mobilization Manager, Eng. Lydia Onditi and CSR Coordinator, Ms. Nur Riday.

Ms. Ndekei expressed her gratitude for the partnership between KEPSA Foundation and Davis and Shirtliff during the 2022 drought response initiative and the Better Business Practices for Children initiative. She emphasized the importance of continuing this collaboration to implement socio-economic transformation initiatives led by the Foundation, particularly in promoting sustainable environmental practices, empowering women, youth, and persons with disabilities, and enhancing childcare services. The partnership would significantly advance efforts to tackle longstanding challenges in communities, particularly through sustainable water solutions for the Foundations tree planting Kijani initiative and Chandaria Tree nurseries which focus on establishing orchards for schools and establishing tree nurseries . The effort would  support income-generating activities, such as cultivating high-value foods  that would fetch better income.

Mr. Mbugua emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership between the two organizations. He highlighted the need to leverage the Foundation’s convening power to engage like-minded partners in implementing high-demand, sustainable community-centred interventions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) approaches, all with the overarching goal of improving lives.

The two organizations committed to formalizing the partnership towards collaborating on initiatives that will enhance the lives and livelihoods of local communities
