KEPSA Foundation, led by the Executive Director Ms. Gloria Ndekei, on 18th February 2025, signed a partnership agreement with the Embassy of Portugal in Nairobi, represented by the Deputy Permanent Representative to UNEP and UN-HABITAT, Mr. Miguel Luis. The partnership aims to establish Children-Friendly Playgrounds “Tiny Parks” in select Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centres in low-income urban settlement areas in the Country. This will be with support from the Embassy of Portugal’s Small Projects Fund.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Ms. Ndekei underscored the impact of this project in creating a safe, supportive environment that supports holistic and optimal growth for the development of children. She thanked the Embassy for the partnership, which will work as a catalytic initiative that will be showcased to draw more actors to support and enhance children’s environment especially those in vulnerable communities in low urban settlements.
Mr. Miguel, on his part, congratulated KEPSA Foundation for being among the few selected organizations to receive funding from the Embassy in 2025. He provided an overview of the agreement and extended his best wishes to the KEPSA Foundation for the successful implementation of the project.
